Marissa joins the Capital Hill group following a career that has included key roles in political offices at both the federal and provincial levels. In Ottawa, Marissa served on the central office of two federal cabinet ministers with responsibility for national and international social and economic files. At Queen’s Park, Marissa helped manage a diverse stakeholder relations portfolio on behalf of Ontario’s Leader of the Official Opposition. At the local level she is an experienced campaign operative, who helped successfully manage a winning federal election campaign in a newly created and intensely contested constituency.
During her time in the federal government Marissa worked closely with officials and staff engaged with the Department of Human Resources and Social Development Canada, as well as the Department of Agriculture and Agri-Foods Canada. She has direct experience in files that include Canada’s mortgage industry, labour markets, food-safety, agriculture risk management and international trade files. While at Queen’s Park she built relationships across party lines and directly engaged with municipal, health care, science, education, resource management, and small business stakeholders.
An accredited communications professional, Marisa possesses expertise in event management, strategic planning, writing and research services. She is also an active volunteer in her community.
