AG Report on ArriveCAN App Overview

Today Auditor General Karen Hogan tabled a report in the House of Commons that concludes that the Canada Border Services Agency, the Public Health Agency of Canada, and Public Services and Procurement Canada failed to follow good management practices in the contracting, development, and implementation of the ArriveCAN application.

The AG then appeared at Public Accounts committee to discuss the report. The Opposition MPs’ questioning underscored the lack of documentation, the inadequate record keeping, irregular procurement process and the lack value for money.

Liberal MPs tried to steer the committee appearance towards less controversial issues and keep their questioning neutral.

The AG also talked about the irregularities around the procurement process for ArriveCAN.
