Prior to joining Capital Hill Group, Jessica began her career in the non-profit sector as Chair of the StFX Students’ Union. Subsequently, Jessica was the Executive Assistant at the Miramichi Chamber of Commerce, where she gained experience in advocacy, communications, research, and event planning.
Most notably, Jessica worked in the Office of the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Environment and Climate Change and Member of Parliament for Central Nova. She was responsible for conducting and expanding the Member’s constituency outreach, which outlined the Member’s activities in Parliament and Central Nova, government proceedings, and investments. Jessica also created strategic communications materials for the Member.
Jessica acquired increased knowledge of Parliament and Cabinet, following a term as a Junior Project Officer at Veterans Affairs Canada in the Parliamentary and Cabinet Affairs division. Jessica attended various House of Commons committee meetings on behalf of the department to brief the Privy Council Office. She also prepared various briefing materials for the Minister of Veterans Affairs and Deputy Minister, which included briefings on Memorandums to Cabinet, standing committee appearances, and standing committee reports.
Jessica holds a Bachelor of Science in Human Kinetics from St. Francis Xavier University and is a candidate for a Master’s degree in Public Policy and Administration from Carleton University.
