Job Posting: Research Analyst

During the COVID-19 pandemic, this position will work remotely but will be required to work from the Ottawa office following PHAC issuing guidelines to lift social distancing restrictions. Due to the nature of remote work, the successful applicant will be required to have a computer, Internet access, and access to Google Drive.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Research and monitoring of government relations activity to assist in the formation of an overall client strategy.

Create a variety of professional, quality documents to send directly to the client on a variety of topics including, legal and regulatory process, political landscape, and sector-specific updates.

Support colleagues in the ongoing research and monitoring needs required to service a client file.

Assess the political landscape and conduct business intelligence in order to identify items and communications relevant to client files and to create packaged communications to each Senior Consultant/Consultant on their relevant files.

Actively participate in special event management, promotion, and organization.

Contribute to general firm planning meetings and marketing activities, as well as other potential duties as required.

REQUIRED CRITERIA

Excellent understanding of the federal political landscape and policy-making process;

Superior business writing skills;

Excellent verbal skills;

Social media skills;

Digital marketing skills;

Event planning skills;

Excellent analytical thinking skills;

Ability to manage multiple and constantly shifting priorities;

Experience working in issues management or strategic communications;

Demonstrable ability to act with discretion and exercise sound judgement.

ASSETS

Bilingualism (English-French) both written and spoken;

Experience working in advocacy, politics, government, and/or business development

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 

A degree in a field related to Canadian public administration, business, research, and/or politics, experience working with a non-profit organization, advocacy groups, political parties, elected officials, or the Government of Canada would be particularly valuable.

ACCOUNTABILITY AND REPORTING

This position would report to the Operations Lead, with ultimate accountability to the President.

REMUNERATION

Salary is commensurate with experience.
